Watch it work.

Real time, one application — no cuts hiding a sanding session.

What people are saying.

Real results, real metal.

“My kitchen sink looked like it had been sitting in a junkyard. Sprayed this on, waited a few minutes, wiped it off. It looks like stainless steel again. I didn’t think that was possible.”
KMKaren M.Houston, TX · Sinks & fixtures
“Patio railing was covered in rust spots. I’d written it off and was about to pay someone to replace it. This stuff dissolved the rust in one application. Saved me hundreds.”
DRDave R.Atlanta, GA · Outdoor & tools
“Used it on the undercarriage of my truck. Surface rust that had been spreading for two winters — completely gone. This is now a permanent part of my maintenance routine.”
BTBrad T.Denver, CO · Auto & garage

Drag it. Same railing, one treatment apart.

That orange bloom isn't just dirt — it's rust eating into the metal. A concentrated remover that dissolves it off is the difference between wiping and sanding.

Back to bare metal in three steps. Zero sanding.

1Spray it on

Coat the rusted metal until it's wet through. A few pumps covers a railing section, a tool or a tap.

2Wait 5–10 minutes

The formula dissolves the rust off the metal while you leave it be.

3Wipe it away

Wipe or rinse the dissolved rust away. Heavy pitted rust? Repeat once.

A real rust remover. Not a paint that hides it.

Rust-converter paints just seal the rust under a coat. RustLift is a concentrated remover that takes the rust off the metal — so you're left with clean steel, not a painted-over problem.

It dissolves the rust

Rust is iron oxide bonded into the metal. The concentrated formula breaks it down chemically and lifts it off, so it rinses away instead of needing to be ground off.

It saves the sandpaper

No wire brushes, no sanding discs, no angle grinder. Spray, wait, wipe — the good metal underneath is left intact instead of scratched raw.

It gets into the pitting

Rust hides in pits and seams a brush can't reach. A liquid works its way in, so light surface rust and stubborn pitted rust both lift.

Then wipe or rinse. No wire brush, no sanding, no ground-down metal.

The more you keep in the cupboard, the less each one costs.

Rust doesn't stop at one spot — it spreads across every bit of untreated metal. Here's what a bottle works out at.

Minutes versus an afternoon with a wire brush.

You already own sandpaper and a wire brush. Here's why the railing still looks like that.

What actually turns up.

RustLift rust remover spray bottle
What it is
A concentrated rust remover in a trigger spray. Not a rust-converter paint that just hides the problem.
Size
120ml trigger spray. Concentrated — a little covers a lot of metal.
Format
Trigger spray. Clings to vertical railings and works into pitting, then dissolves the rust while it dwells.
Dwell time
Five to ten minutes on normal rust. Heavy pitted rust may want a second application.
Scent
A faint chemical smell — work somewhere ventilated.
Handling
Wear gloves and eye protection. Rinse the metal with water after the rust lifts; keep off skin, clothes and stone.

One bottle for everything metal.

From garden railings to the tools in the shed, if it's rusted steel or iron this handles it — and it's honest about where it shouldn't go.

Use it on
  • Wrought-iron railings, gates and fences
  • Hand tools, spanners, chisels and blades
  • Taps, chrome fixtures and bathroom fittings
  • Patio furniture, BBQs and metal frames
  • Bike chains, sprockets and metal parts
  • Stainless steel and chrome with surface rust
Don't use it on
  • Bare or anodised aluminium — it can etch it
  • Painted metal you want to keep painted
  • Natural stone, grout or unsealed tile nearby
  • Skin, fabric or anything you can't rinse off fast

If you're unsure, test a coin-sized patch somewhere hidden and give it a few minutes. That's the whole safety check.

Four things that make it work better.

None of this is required. All of it helps.

01Knock off the loose flakes first

Brush or wipe away loose, flaking rust before you spray, so the remover reaches solid rust instead of wasting itself on dust.

02Give it the full ten minutes

Rust takes its time. Leave it the full five to ten minutes — wiping too early is the main reason people think it didn't work.

03Keep it wet while it works

On a hot day a vertical railing can dry out. Re-spray if it starts to dry — the rust only lifts while the formula is wet on it.

04Rinse and protect afterwards

Once the rust's gone, rinse with water and dry the metal. Bare steel re-rusts if left damp — a wipe of oil or a coat of paint keeps it clean.

Restore Labs

We got tired of products that need you to do the work.

Walk down the cleaning aisle and almost everything is the same thing: water, a surfactant, a fragrance, and a promise that you'll supply the elbow grease. The bottle cleans nothing. You clean it. The bottle just watches.

Restore Labs exists to make the small number of products where the chemistry does the job instead of you. That means fewer products, made properly — a degreaser that actually degreases, a rust remover that actually removes rust. If we can't make one meaningfully better than what's already on the shelf, we don't make it.

RustLift does the same for rust. It's a concentrated remover you spray straight onto rusted steel or iron, and it dissolves the rust on its own. You spray. You wait. You wipe. That's the entire product, and it's the entire promise.

A restored metal railing, RustLift rust remover in hand
An afternoon's job in ten minutes — spray the rust, wait, wipe it away.

The oddly satisfying part.

Years of rust, wiped back to bright bare metal. We could watch this all day.

More from real garages.

Spray, wait, wipe — no sanding.

“Bathroom faucet was covered in rust stains I thought were permanent. One spray and they wiped right off. My husband couldn’t believe it was the same faucet.”
PSPriya S.Chicago, IL · Sinks & fixtures
“Works exactly as described on my garden tools. The really heavy rust took a second application, but it handled everything without any scrubbing. Great product.”
THTom H.Phoenix, AZ · Outdoor & tools
“Brake rotors had surface rust from sitting all winter. Sprayed this on before my seasonal inspection and they cleaned up perfectly. Mechanic was impressed.”
LWLinda W.Nashville, TN · Auto & garage

The boring bit, in plain English.

Getting hold of us

A real inbox, answered by a person. If something arrives damaged, send a photo and we'll sort it — no returns runaround on a bottle of rust remover.

Before you ask

How fast does it actually work?

Surface rust usually wipes off after five to ten minutes of dwell time. Heavy, pitted rust that's been building for years can need a second application — still no sanding.

What metals is it safe on?

Steel, iron, chrome and most stainless. Avoid bare or anodised aluminium (it can etch), and don't leave it on painted metal you want to keep painted. Patch-test anywhere you're unsure.

Do I need gloves?

Yes. It's an acid-based rust remover — wear gloves and eye protection, keep it off skin and clothes, and rinse the metal with water afterwards.

How big is the bottle, and how far does it go?

A 120ml concentrated trigger spray. A little covers a lot — a railing section or a handful of tools only takes a few pumps.

The rust is really bad and pitted. Will it work?

Probably, but it may take two goes. The first application lifts the surface rust; the second gets down into the deeper pitting. Still far less work than grinding it all back.

Will it leave the metal bare?

Yes — that's the point. It takes the rust back to clean metal. Bare steel will re-rust if left damp, so rinse, dry, and protect it with oil or paint afterwards.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes, with ventilation — on taps, radiators and tools. Protect anything underneath (stone, grout, fabric) that you can't rinse, and keep the window open.

Does it smell?

It has a faint chemical smell, so work somewhere ventilated. It's nowhere near as harsh as an oven or drain product, but it's a real rust remover — treat it with respect.

Shipping and returns?

Every order ships tracked, dispatched within 1–2 days, typically delivered in 8–14 days. If it doesn't do what this page says, you have 30 days to send it back for a full refund.

Your railings have looked like the "before" long enough.
